25th encounter of polyphonic songs of calvi

From 10 to 14 September 2013 in the Citadel of Calvi

Since 2009 the Corsican polyphonic song is registered in the Intangible World Heritage of UNESCO, this song belongs to the oral tradition. It is often performed on festive or religious occasions and its transmission takes place mainly orally.

The association U Svegliu Calvese and A Filleta created in 1989 the Rencontres de Chants Polyphonique to help people discover and share this island tradition. This festival is also open to the international from the start by welcoming groups of groups from all over the world.

For this 25th edition, the festival opens with the work of Lebanese, Congolese and French artists. The concerts take place from 18 pm in the citadel of Calvi: Saint Jean-Baptiste cathedral, Oratory, Place des Armes ...
