Our fourth stay at U Casale. I think that says it all.

As this is our fourth visit to the house, I have probably already said everything. But some things don't get better by repeating them. I would like to tell you that you will appreciate the peaceful atmosphere of the house, the village and the valley. Watch the changing colors of the mountains behind. You will be amazed at how relaxing the place is. Restaurants are a very personal thing and we haven't had bad food anywhere we've been. We all walked a lot and the views are stunning.

A fantastic week in this beautiful house with stunning views. We can recommend taking the train to Calvi, although the trains are very busy. Beach in Bodri, walk in San Antonio and Pigna, swim on the rocks near the citadel and Île Rousse, go jet-skiing in Île Rousse. The Auberge next door – brilliant. If you like pizza you have to walk 10 mins down the hill to the little pizzeria (best pizza ever) but they don't take cards - only cash. Further afield in Calvi you had a great lunch at the Pub on the sea front. Great vegetarian and vegan options. The bakery next door for bread – one day it ran out at 10am – so go early!

We had a very brief stay at U Casale, but enjoyed every minute of this beautiful villa and wonderful area! The views are spectacular and we found it very easy to relax with a glass of local wine or two. We enjoyed visiting Calvi, Ile Rousse and the quaint little town of Pigna.

We were very pleasantly surprised by the size and space of this interesting house. It's so much bigger than it looks in the pictures, very well stocked and even has some cute glasses. There are even enough hangers! The bathrooms are great and there's plenty of room for all our stuff. The pool heater helps keep the cold out and the sheltered pool level design works really well. A great vacation.

The village, Santa Reparata, has two small restaurants as well as a hotel restaurant during the summer months, a bakery, a grocery store and a butcher. U Casale is only five kilometers from the town center and the sandy beaches of Ile Rousse, and three kilometers from Monticello, with its famous gourmet restaurant.
Follow your curiosity and wander into the remotest corners where time has eroded some of the ancient buildings and swifts swoop and chatter. From here you can take the hiking trails that lead to Pigna or climb to the top of the hill of Sant'Antonino, which dates from the 10th century. Both are on the Route des Artisans, with its arts and crafts workshops and range of local produce to sample and take home. For wine lovers, there are also two vineyards within a 20-minute drive, as well as the popular Wine Route, which passes through the fashionable Lumio, a picturesque village with nearby sandy beaches and impressive views on the Gulf of Calvi. The nearest gourmet restaurant is in Salti in Regino, about XNUMX minutes away by car and next to a nine-hole golf course.
In July you will also have the pleasure of taking part in Festivoce, Pigna's international music festival, which offers a full program of events, including concerts and performances in the streets, baroque churches, chapels and squares, the all within a 15 minute drive.
